Project Description |
Project Study Process Flowchart ANNOUNCING PUBLIC MEETINGS February 2002The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) has initiated an environmental and location study for Interstate 69 from El Dorado to McGehee, Arkansas. AHTD has contracted with the firm of Michael Baker Jr., Inc. (Baker) to conduct this study. During the past several months, Baker has developed several two mile-wide corridors within the project area based on a number of environmental and engineering considerations. Future studies will focus on developing specific highway alignments, approximately 300 feet in width, within one or a combination of these corridors. AHTD and Baker will be holding three public meetings to present and discuss the results of the corridor location studies from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the following communities: McGehee, Arkansas
Monticello, Arkansas
El Dorado, Arkansas
The meetings will be informal and will allow attendance at any time throughout the evening. You will have an opportunity to review the corridor locations and talk with representatives from AHTD and Baker. Comment forms will be available to obtain written comments on the corridors presented and to obtain additional environmental information for the project area. These meetings are an important part of the transportation decision-making process and your involvement is encouraged and appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these meetings, please contact Michael Baker Jr., Inc., 7203 Sheridan Road, Suite M, White Hall, AR 71602 or call 870-247-3979. THANK YOU !
